Longeurs
Good longing is an
art in itself, and the longeur is a vital
member of the vaulting team.
The longeur helps the
vaulting horse move diligently, in a
relaxed and rhythmically even way. He
sets the horse's pace, which will be
regular and collected at all times. The
longeur must constantly observe the horse's
stride and be aware of what is going
on at all times to be a help in dificult
exercises or in case of falls.

Gyokossy, a Hungarian artist based in
Cuba, New Mexico, is an accomplished
dressage rider and trainer with many
years of experience in the vaulting world.
